I'm off to a not so great start as I didn't post yesterday but hey, that's okay! So this post is going to cover yesterday AND today. My online journal, my rules!
So we celebrated bringing in the NY by staying in. Skyler had to work and then went to a party. We asked her to babysit but she declined. We asked Serena but she declined and we asked Pinky if Hevin might be able to but she said they might need her. We gave up then and were okay with it.
We did get invited to a couple of gatherings that were kid friendly but we were tired and decided to stay in. I had meat in the fridge that needed cooked and so I did that! Proud of myself because normally I would say forget it and let it go bad to go out to eat. We had Lazy Bow Tie soup, salad and bread. It's one of Rylee's favorites so he was happy.
Later that night Jesse went to Kroger and bought me some champagne, the more expensive kind too!! I usually buy the cheap stuff but he got me the good stuff and a good orange juice so I could make a Mimosa. What a sweetie he is!
While at Kroger he saw a farm toy on sale and bought it for Jess too. We put that together...
Jesse left at 11:45 to pick up Skyler from a party. Needless to say, he got lost and he missed the countdown AND New Year's hitting so I took this nice selfie to distract myself and not cry. What a baby I've become in my mid 30s!
Jesse and Skyler finally showed up about 12:05. Jess stayed up until about 12:15! He's becoming a little night owl! But before he fell asleep, I caught this little treasure of a picture for the memory book...

Of course Rylee was on his xbox most of the night so I kicked him off eventually and he was watching a movie in the other room. He is such a loner.
We woke up on New Year's day at 11! So nice to sleep in. Jesse got up with Jess and I stayed in bed until almost 1! I got up and we went to Bob's for breakfast. I was starving! After a late breakfast, Skyler went to hang out with Morgan and we went home. Jesse, me, Rylee and Jess ended up watching Lilo and Stitch. After the movie Jesse took a nap and Rylee went off to his room so Jess and I ended up watching The Lorax.
Eventually Jesse woke up and was shocked at how long he slept and I think surprised that I didn't wake him up! He went and picked up Skyler and we ended up going to see Wolf of Wall Street.
All in all, was a very nice ending of 2013 and start of 2014!
